Seasons
A season is a stretch of dates when your hours or your prices are different: Ramadan nights, a closed Eid, a busy school break. Qaema proposes the big ones before they arrive, and you decide. Nothing changes until you tap Apply. Everything lives in the Seasons section of /app/bookings.
The proposal
Section titled “The proposal”About 45 days before a season starts, a card appears in Seasons with its dates, the hours and prices it proposes, and a line saying why. You can apply it as it is, edit it first, or dismiss it.
Qaema proposes seasons on its own only for Saudi venues — which is every venue that hasn’t set another country — and only where your business type has a proposal for that season:
| Business type | Ramadan | Eid al-Fitr | Eid al-Adha |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barbershop, salon | 9:00 PM – 3:00 AM | Closed | +20 % on every price |
| Car wash | 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM | — | — |
| Istiraha / hall | — | Every day at your Thu – Fri price, or its own if higher | Every day at your Thu – Fri price, or its own if higher |
Ramadan and the Eids follow the Umm al-Qura calendar. Founding Day (22 February) and National Day (23 September) are in the calendar too, but no business type proposes anything for them yet. Any season Qaema doesn’t propose — a school break, a local festival, Founding Day — you can add yourself (see Your own seasons).
Where the numbers come from
Section titled “Where the numbers come from”A proposal starts from your business type, then looks at your own bookings for the same season last year:
- 90 % full or more — prices go up 10 points more than the proposal (at a place, each proposed price goes up by 10 %). The card says: You were 94 % full last Ramadan, so prices go up 10 points more.
- 30 % full or less — no price increase is proposed. If that leaves nothing to change, the card says No change: applying this keeps your usual hours and prices.
- In between — the proposal as it is, with last year’s figure shown.
- No bookings last year (a new venue, for example) — the proposal as it is, with Suggested for your type of business. No figure is invented.
“Full” is the booked time over the bookable time on those dates, using your hours as they are today. It’s arithmetic over your own bookings; nothing else is involved.
Apply, edit, dismiss
Section titled “Apply, edit, dismiss”- Apply turns the season on for its dates. Two applied seasons can’t overlap: if the dates run into another applied season, Apply is refused and names it. Proposals may overlap each other freely.
- Edit opens the season’s hours and prices. Save, then Apply. Once you’ve edited a proposal, its card keeps last year’s figure but no longer says the price rose because of it.
- Dismiss removes a proposal. A dismissed Ramadan or Eid isn’t proposed again that year. Only a proposal can be dismissed, and so can an ended season’s back-to-normal line (see Back to normal); an applied season is changed with Edit or shifted.
A proposal you haven’t applied by its last day is over: it leaves Seasons that day, can no longer be applied, and isn’t proposed again that year.
Season changes aren’t in the undo list. To reverse one, use the season’s own buttons: dismiss a proposal, shift the dates back, or edit the hours and prices. To make an applied season change nothing, edit it to Keep my hours and a price change of 0.
The moon-sighting shift
Section titled “The moon-sighting shift”Ramadan and the Eids start when the moon is sighted, which can be a day away from the calendar. When the announcement lands, tap −1 day or +1 day on the card. Both the start and the end move, up to two days either way, and the card says how far it has been shifted.
When an applied season moves, bookings already made keep their price and their time. The card lists the ones the move affected, under Now outside the season and Now inside the season, so you can call a guest if you need to. This list on the card is the only place a moved booking is shown; no message is sent about it.
Your own seasons
Section titled “Your own seasons”Tap + Own season for anything with dates: a school break, a local festival, Founding Day. Choose School break or Other, give it a name in English, Arabic or both, pick the From and To dates, then set what changes. It starts as a proposal, so you apply it the same way as any other.
A Ramadan or Eid season’s dates come from the calendar and can only be shifted. Your own season’s dates are yours to edit. Edit shows its From and To dates. When an applied season’s dates change, its card lists the bookings now outside or inside it, just as after a shift.
Your agent can do the same through the owner MCP: list_seasons, and set_season, apply_season, dismiss_season and shift_season.
What a season changes
Section titled “What a season changes”A season changes hours and prices only, and only on its own dates. The day after it ends, everything is as it was. No setting is rewritten, so there’s nothing to undo.
- Hours. Keep my hours, Closed, or These hours for each day. Season hours replace your venue’s hours and any person’s or resource’s own hours on those dates. Prayer pauses, blocked time and the online cut-off still apply on top. Hours that close after midnight run into the next morning: a Ramadan night of 9:00 PM – 3:00 AM is bookable until 3:00 AM, including the morning after the last night.
- Prices. A price change from −50 % to +200 %, applied after any peak price, then rounded. A peak court inside a season costs its peak price plus the season’s percentage.
- At a place. A season sets its own Day prices and Overnight prices by weekday. A place’s blocks are its hours, so a place season has no hours. A special date you set on the place still wins over the season’s prices on that date. A percentage change also applies to special dates. Weekday prices are one table for the whole venue, so they’re offered only when the venue has one place. With several places (a hall and its sections, say), use a price change instead: each place keeps its own prices, changed by the percentage, and Qaema proposes no place season.
What a season can’t change yet: how far ahead guests can book, deposits, confirmations and reminders, prayer pauses and minimum nights.
Bookings already made
Section titled “Bookings already made”A booking keeps the price and time it was made with. Applying, editing, shifting or ending a season never changes a booking that already exists. A booking made on a season date is priced at the season’s price, and that price stays with it. A stay whose nights run into a season pays the season’s price only for the nights inside it.
What guests see
Section titled “What guests see”On your booking page, a guest who picks a day inside an applied season sees the Hijri date under the day strip, next to the Gregorian one. The times offered and the prices quoted are the season’s. Until they pick a time, the deposit line says that seasonal prices apply that day. The Hijri date isn’t shown on the day chips themselves or on the confirmation page. Where the Umm al-Qura calendar isn’t available, the Hijri date is left out, never guessed. In that case Ramadan and the Eids aren’t proposed either.
Back to normal
Section titled “Back to normal”The night after an applied season’s last day, it ends. Seasons shows Ramadan has ended. Hours and prices are back to normal. until you tap Got it. Qaema also sends you one WhatsApp message saying the same thing. It goes to your venue’s own WhatsApp number, or its phone number if there isn’t one, set in Venue settings. It’s sent once per season, and it’s the only Book message addressed to you rather than a guest. Without a number the Seasons line is the whole notice. See Messages to guests.
