Table service requests
Table Service lets guests choose Ready to order, Call waiter, or Request bill. Staff see the requests in the host app’s Service screen. You can use it without a waitlist or POS, and connect the menu and Lite POS separately.
Set up your tables
Section titled “Set up your tables”Sign in with your Qaema account, select your venue, and open Service. Enable service, add your tables, and give service access to the team members who will respond. Open service when staff are ready to monitor it. Start a table visit when guests sit down; end it when their visit is over.
Print the service QR for each table. If using Qaema Menu, use the menu link with the table’s service QR token. A plain table number in a menu URL does not authorize requests. QR links can be copied; restrict service to staffed hours and rotate a table’s QR if it is being misused.
Respond to a request
Section titled “Respond to a request”Tap I’m on my way when you take a request. The guest then sees that staff are coming. Complete it after attending the table, or return it to the queue if another staff member needs to take it. Overdue requests stay visible.
Ready to order can include the guest’s selected items. Confirm choices, availability, allergies and prices with the guest before making an order. A service request does not send food to the kitchen.
Request bill is a request for staff assistance. Cash/card preferences help staff bring the right terminal. Completing the request does not record payment or clear the table.
Connection problems
Section titled “Connection problems”Keep a staff screen open and check its connection indicator. The guest must see a confirmed request before expecting staff to receive it. If the connection fails during sending, retry the same request to recover its result safely, or speak to staff directly. A delayed command from an ended visit cannot change the next visit.
If you return to the same table using the same phone, choose Start a new visit only after being seated again. Old requests are not resent.
Phone background notifications are not a substitute for an attended service screen. Availability depends on browser permissions and platform support.
With Lite POS
Section titled “With Lite POS”Staff review an attached list before making a dine-in draft using the current POS catalog. Bill requests open an explicitly linked order or ask staff to select the correct order. Existing POS permissions, preparation and payment rules still apply. A POS connection failure must not stop standalone service requests.
This feature is being prepared for pilot acceptance. Follow the deployment and verification record before enabling it for real guests. Physical-device acceptance and production rollout are separate release steps.
